Our legacy

In the past, our grandfathers’ durable, hard-wearing workers’ jackets were a source of pride for them. Kiplay Vintage is passionate about updating the work clothes produced in our workshops since 1921 for contemporary wardrobes. Inspired by Kiplay patterns from the time, some garments have been hand-darned just like in the old days.

Laid-back carpenter-style moleskin working trousers inspired by 1920s work clothes.The colour blue is a nod to the “blue-collar” workers back in the day. Made in France out of : Moleskin 100% - Cotton 390g/m². Details:

Moleskin, the choice of a French fabric

Moleskin comprising cotton is a tight-weave technique performed in France. Its unique weaving method is what produces its appearance of “shorn velvet”. Some compare it to the look of mole fur. That’s where the name comes from, incidentally: Mole Skin. Besides its unique look, it is incredibly hard-wearing which makes it an ideal choice for making work clothes. Incidentally, this French fabric has often been compared to a well-known American fabric - Denim.

Our entire clothing range is made in Normandy, at the workshops in Saint-Pierre-D’Entremont. By their unique craftsmanship, they ensure quality and respect of our values. With their expertise, they powerfully highlight each of the hallmarks of our garments, quality, durability and creativity.
